VerifiMe is an Australian-owned technology platform which handles customer identity information and allows it to be securely collected and verified, without the organisation needing to separately collect, hold or store that information.
It allows an individual to establish a singular audited record as proof of their individual or their entity’s identity that:
1. Is an immutable singular record of identity that the person (customer) can use to provide (permission) to one or more organisations in order for that organisation to meet their Know Your Customer (KYC) and/or Know Your Business (KYB) needs.
2. Is an identity record for a natural person, trust or company that is secured when shared by way of zero-knowledge proof.
3. Where the receiving organisation can automatically evaluate this identity information through a rules engine that is 100% tailored to their compliance policies and programs, for example, their AML/CTF or FATCA/CRS policy, allowing them the certainty of remaining compliant with regulation.

When your customer completes a verification process via a VerifiMe link, they go through a series of steps. Not all steps have to be completed; for instance, liveliness may not be completed if someone is unable or refuses to complete the selfie process.
The minimum verified level we provide is:
Name, address, date of birth,
One or two Government identity documents are collected and analysed. Passing this step means:
-approved identity documents are provided;
-the data contained on the identity documents have been read and captured;
-the documents have been electronically analysed to check for authenticity;
-where appropriate, documents are matched to Government databases.
-
VerifiMe is free for customers to set up their wallets. Businesses pay for the use of the VerifiMe Network but customers do not incur a cost.

The government Digital ID will assist you with accessing government services and, in time, services offered by private businesses although the latter is likely to take a few years to be operational.
The advantage of using a VerifiMe Digital ID wallet now is that it allows organisations that provide a service to you directly (such as an accountant, lawyer, funds manager, real estate agent) to verify who you are without having to hold your underlying personal information. VerifiMe puts you in control of your personal identifiable information and allows you to manage who has permission to access your data through sharing a token that represents a zero-knowledge proof of that data state. VerifiMe, unlike the government Digital ID, is providing you with a way to manage your personal information so you will never lose track again of who has that information or what precise information of yours that they have.
A further difference to the Government Digital ID platform, is that VerifiMe can manage more than just your basic ID information. It also manages other critical compliance information for organisations. For example, you may be asked by certain service providers for your company information, trust deeds, self-managed superannuation details or for documents related to investments such as a 708 wholesale investor certificates. All these sensitive documents do not need to be shared over and over again with these service providers when you manage this process with VerifiMe.

No. We only share an identity status with the organisation, when the customer shares their identity by granting permission to them. In establishing identities in the customer wallet, the customer provides documentation to prove their identity. These documents are then secured offline once checked. They will only be accessed when requested by an organisation to fulfil an audit.
-
Any time you share your ID there is risk involved. Solutions such as VerifiMe reduce this risk, by minimising the requirement for organisations to repeatedly and separately collect and manage copies of your identity documents. By using VerifiMe, we allow you to be identified by the organisation without the organisation having to handle your personal identity information.
-
VerifiMe sends reminders or notifications to customers about document expiry and the need for updates to their wallet.
-
VerifiMe allows you to revoke access to a granted permission to an organisation so they cannot access your data. However in some cases, particularly for AUSTRAC reporting entities, your initial permission contractually binds you to allowing access for a period of time to fulfill that entities reporting objectives.
-
If a customer does not want documents made available for audit, they would need to discuss this with the VerifiMe team and potentially the auditing entity.
-
The duration of the identity verification process can vary depending on several factors:
The time it takes customers to submit all necessary documentation
The complexity of information provided by the customer
Processing time by VerifiMe as it cross references information to check for consistency and ensure compliance with any regulations
The entire process—from document submission to verification completion—can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. Encouraging your clients to provide accurate information in a timely fashion will expediate the process.
-
If you are struggling to create an account, do not have a means to do so, or are concerned regarding the document requests, please contact support@verifime.com and provide a phone number. We will call you straight back and find a way to solve this to ensure you are not being disenfranchised in any way.

Passkeys are a safer and easier alternative to passwords. With passkeys, users can sign in to apps and websites with a biometric sensor (such as a fingerprint or facial recognition), PIN, or pattern, freeing them from having to remember and manage passwords.

As part of the identity verification you will be asked to complete a face check, if you wish to skip this you can do so with instructions here. However, there are some businesses that require this process as part of their compliance programs or may set up a process to see you face to face instead.
